How to get your own chatbot
Getting your own chatbot from Chatbuddy is easy!

Here's what to do and what to expect when you set up an account with us.

What you need


Your chatbot doesn't need a lot that you don't already have for your business, we're sure! Here's a handy list of things you might want to get ready as start on the journey of getting your very own automated assistant.
  1. Your company details
  2. Your contact information (both for yourself and your company)
  3. Your company logo and visuals you'd like to have for your company profile
  4. The product/services list (and details!) that you would like your chatbot to sell for you - this information can certainly vary depending on your industry, but at the very least:
    1. Product names
    2. Product descriptions
    3. Product pricing
  5. Your Facebook Page where your chatbot will be to talk to your custoemrs
  6. Your Website if you would like the chatbot to be on your website, too (optional)

Step 1: Contact us via one of our many contact options.

Step 2: Accomplish our Chatbuddy Onboarding Form

We'll send you an onboarding form to get more details about your business and what you want your chatbot to showcase. Think of it as you teaching Chatbuddy all about your business!

At any point in this step, you can always click on Save if you need to step away for a little bit and attend to some important things, but don't forget to come back later! The Back or Next buttons will help you navigate through the different pages of the onboarding form.

Here's what to expect from our onboarding form:

Page 1: Your Contact Details

This is where Chatbuddy finds out who's the boss! We'll use the contact details you provide here when we need to reach out to you about your chatbot.

We'll need your name, title, and contact details. Don't worry, we'll never spam!



Page 2: Your Business Details

Whatever business you run, Chatbuddy can be your assistant! But we'll need some details about your business -- information that Chatbuddy will use when people ask about your business.

Things we ask for here include your company's name, logo, contact details for your customers to get to you, and the like! Here are some tips about the details on this page:
  1. Your business description will be shown to your customers when they ask, so think about what you'd like your customers to know about your business! Short and sweet is best.
  2. Your logo is the face of your business! We'll accept all usual file formats (jpg, png, gif) and we encourage sending us a high quality logo for your business. In general, anything 500x500 and higher would be really great!
  3. If you have multiple branches for your business, don't fret! We'll get into that later on. Just send us the address of your main branch or headquarters!


Page 3: Chatbot details and products

Next, we'll need information on who you'd like your chatbot to be, and if you want your bot to show up on your website. It's alright if you don't have a website, or would like to keep your chatbot elsewhere for now--you can always get this changed later on when you're ready!

We also need information on your products and/or services! Your price list can be shared with your customers chatting to your chatbot, so make sure it is up to date. And don't worry, we know things can change in the future! You'll be able to get this changed whenever you need to.



Page 4: Advanced configuration

If you've got branches that sell different products or services, or if you change your offerings depending on the time or day, then this section is for you!

We need some information to make sure we're in the right direction, and this step helps us with that. We'll get further in touch with you after this to hammer out any further details we need!



Page 5: SMS Addon

If you're interested in powering up your chatbot by offering SMS notifications and One Time PIN/passwords for transactions, this is the place to do it!



Review your Details

You're almost done! You can check what you've written in the form by clicking on Review. Your form details will be displayed to you, and you can click on X on the upper right hand side of the form details once you've done reviewing your form submission.

If you need to change anything, you can click on the Back or Next buttons to cycle through the form pages. You can always click on Save if you need to step away for a little bit and attend to some important things, but don't forget to come back and finish your onboarding form!

When you're ready, click on Submit! This will send us all your details and we can get right on fine-tuning your chatbot for your business needs.

You'll also get an email confirming your onboarding form submission with the details that you have sent to us.



Step 3: Let us install the chatbot for you, or go DIY

Our trustworthy Chatbuddy agents will need access to your Facebook Page and/or Website if you would like us to make your life even easier by installing your chatbot for you.

If you would like to install the chatbot yourself, we can provide handy instructions on updating your Website's codebase and your Facebook Page settings.

Step 4: Profit!

Your chatbot is now ready to go! So sit back, relax, and let your automated assistant do the work! ;)
